“John”不是约翰是“茅厕”，那“jordan”和“veronica”又是啥？

　　大家还记得在之前分享的英语双关语笑话吗?

　　A: How do you think we keep the cars here so shiny?

　　您知道我们怎么让我们的车保持锃亮吗?

　　B: Polish?

　　上抛光剂?

　　A: Sorry sir, Jak my?lisz, jak utrzymujemy samochody tutaj tak l?ni?ce?

　　抱歉先生，(波兰语)您知道我们怎么让我们的车保持锃亮吗?

　　之所以会造成这个误会是因为“polish”首字母小写时作为动词有“抛光，擦光”的意思，作为名词则是“磨光，润色，修饰”的意思;

　　而在首字母大写为“Polish”的时候则“波兰语”的意思，作为形容词则指“波兰的，波兰人的，波兰文化的”。

　　因为首字母大小写而改变词语含义的例子还有很多，比如大家伙儿都特别熟悉的China和china：

　　China n. 中国

　　‖ 举例

　　China has been described as an 'emerging economic powerhouse'.

　　中国被称为“崛起中的经济强国”。

　　china n. 瓷器

　　‖ 举例

　　This china came from a junk shop.

　　这件瓷器是从旧货店里买来的。
